A free Letterboxd alternative for films and TV
Film Vault is a free film and TV diary. Rate, review and log everything you watch, follow friends and see your stats. If you collect DVDs, Blu-rays or 4K discs, it catalogues those too. It has no ads, and it's made in the UK.
The short answer
- Film Vault is for rating and reviewing first: every film and TV show you watch, in one diary.
- Own films on disc? Scan them in and keep your collection in the same app. Or don't. Use the diary, the collection or both, it's up to you.
- It's free, with no ads, on the web, iPhone and Android.

Yes. Logging, rating, reviewing, your collection, the barcode scanner and the apps are all free, with no adverts. A few optional extras can be bought in the app.
Can I bring my Letterboxd history?
Yes. Film Vault reads the zip that Letterboxd exports, with your diary, ratings, reviews and watchlist. Running it again never adds a film twice.
Does Film Vault do TV shows?
